This page explains what Camping Scout stores, how it is used, and the main limits of the service.

Last updated 14 April 2026

1. Information collected

Camping Scout currently stores information such as:

  • your signed-in email address
  • your chosen alert email address
  • profile details such as display name and timezone
  • watcher settings such as venue targets, exact-site selections, occupancy, and dates
  • operational records such as run status, health state, and notification events

2. How the information is used

  • to authenticate your account
  • to configure and run your watchers
  • to deliver alert and verification emails
  • to explain watcher state, notification outcomes, and operational issues
  • to improve the product and support users during beta

3. Third-party services

Camping Scout relies on third-party infrastructure and delivery providers to host the app, store data, authenticate users, and send emails.

Camping Scout also depends on third-party booking systems for the availability data the product monitors.

4. Data retention

Camping Scout may retain account, watcher, run, and notification records as long as they are needed to operate the service, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and understand user activity.

Retention periods may change as billing, support, and compliance requirements become clearer.

5. What is not promised

Camping Scout aims to treat user data carefully, but no internet service can promise absolute security or uninterrupted availability.

This privacy page is operationally accurate for the current product stage and may be refined as the service matures.
